Under the Conservative Government, our local NHS Trust has been put into special measures twice, more than any other trust in the country.
Patients in Great Grimsby will be particularly worried by the lack of monitoring of children’s health, and that some patients are having to wait over a year for surgery. There are also serious concerns about the mishandling of patient data which lead to over 100 patients being left off waiting lists. When people need health care, these are the last things they should have to worry about.
This is a direct result of the sustained financial pressures imposed by the Conservative Government, combined with the crisis in adult social care. With the Trust having to close a £30 million deficit, I’m really worried that patient care will continue to get worse.
At a time when our local NHS needs emergency support, the Health Secretary is nowhere to be seen. The Tories are more concerned with the General Election campaign than solving the problems in our health service.
