Reality of claiming PIP

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Tory Tales Versus Reality

You may have heard the Tories' defence of their Universal Credit proposals, saying that claims will be processed within 7 weeks.

Local resident Sean Willis submitted a claim for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and his experience tells a different story;

  • Application commenced                     26th September 2017

  • Application forms sent to claimant      16th October 2017

  • Medical Assessment undertaken         4th December 2017

  • Award confirmed by letter                  5th January 2018

  • First payment received                     11th January 2018

Tories say, "claims processed in 7 weeks"

Reality – 15 weeks

That is 15 weeks waiting for money!!!

Longer if you wish to appeal.

Can you afford another uncaring Tory Government?
