Your Labour Cabinet has approved plans for the introduction of a scheme to help out small businesses in the area. As a result three new schemes are to be introduced to support businesses, in particular, those that face the steepest increases in their business rates bills as a result of the revaluation this year. The new Discretionary Relief Scheme is part of a £300million scheme nationally. The allocation for our  area over the next four years is: 2017/18 - £279,000,  2018/19 - £136,000,  2019/20 - £56,000, 2020/21 - £8000.
